Genetic Counseling

My love for genetics, psychology, and education lead me to the field of Genetic Counseling.  I graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Genetics.  I also graduated from Sarah Lawrence College’s Genetic Counseling program with a Masters in Human Genetics.

I occasionally contribute to http://thednaexchange.com/, a blog where genetic counselors discuss genetics-related topics.

  1. Dear Kelly,

I am a student at SLC in my first year of Human Genetics program. We have a newsletter that I am trying to write an article in it about Lipkin award winners, I really admire your kind efforts in Kenya. May I ask you for an email interview (as a winner of that award) by asking you few questions?

    Thanks,
    Ahmed

    • Hi,

Thank you for your kind comment and for your interest in interviewing me. I am sending you an email, let me know if you didn’t receive it.

      Thanks!

  2. Wow! Your journey and contributions in Kenya are incredible! You are truly inspirational! I see that you write for the DNA Exchange, and work for Informed Medical Decisions, Inc. I am a genetic counselor in a lab, with prior experience in a prenatal clinic and the idea of being a contracted genetic counselor through such a company as Informed Medical Decisions, Inc really resonates with me. I love the mission of the company and am really passionate about the education piece for patients and providers at a more available level. I would love to pick your brain more about your journey, should you have some free time. Thank you!!
