Scholarship

Education….

is one of the best things a person can have. Unfortunately, it can be very challenging and difficult when colleges are so expensive. So many of us take education for granted.
Education should be a right, not a privilege.
I haven’t shared this with more than a couple of people but thought I would blog about it to serve as a reminder for myself down the road.
Over the years I have oftentimes thought that if I ever had enough money set aside I would create a sort of scholarship fund so people can attend college. Or even so people can actually attend high school. I had few classmates drop out of high school so they could work full-time to support their family.
One of my dreams is to give someone the gift of education…regardless of if it’s a high school or college education.

  1. That's part of the reason why I got involved in Teen Institute camp. I wanted to be a role model showing kids and teens that going to college is possible and that life is bigger than just graduating from high school. I also wanted to show there are more places to go to college than just Gally. ;-)Everybody should have an opportunity to go to college. If it doesn't suit you, fine, but at least have the opportunity to do so. College was so much better than high school for me, and life should just keep getting better and better as you get older, not peaking in high school… like it seems to be for many of the people I've met. Deaf people, at least. :-/I wanna start hearing "where did you go to college?" instead of "what deaf institute did you go to?!"
